# Quando uma sessão é aberta no sistema?

Uma sessão é aberta no sistema quando o contato inicia uma conversa ou quando você inicia via mensagem template.

Pelos critérios descritos em Chat ao vivo (Atendente) (seção Validade da Sessão), a sessão é aberta nestes casos:

Quando o contato envia uma mensagem: isso abre uma sessão de Serviço com validade de 24h, liberando o envio de mensagem “livre”.

Quando o contato envia uma mensagem e já havia sessão aberta: a sessão não “duplica”, mas o tempo é atualizado, contando +24h a partir desse momento.

Quando você envia uma Mensagem Template (ex.: por Transmissão): isso abre uma sessão conforme o tipo do template (Marketing ou Utilidade) por 24h.

Importante: o envio de mensagem “livre” só é liberado quando o contato responder ao template.
